I will be staying in Ogasawara Islands, 1000km south from Tokyo bay, for few months. I think I will be posting nature photos from now on. I have a revegetation job in a desert island, will be out there camping most of my time. Will upload some photos when I come back to the main island, once a week I think... Cheers.
When I see elementary school kids, my eyes get caught in to the unique shaped backpacks they wear. "Randosel" we call it, a leather made stiff backpack which has been the proper elementary school uniform for over a millenium maybe? I sometimes get confused when I see little kids wearing the same outfit as it reminds me of the cultual tendency for equality in Japan, but I have to deny, the uniform looks quite cute.
Many scientists are announcing that Mt. Fuji is in danger of eruption. I was shooting this photo the other day, and spoke to an local old man walking with his dog; he said there are signs of volcanic activity through out the mountain. Steams appealing near the mountain top, subsoil water sprouting out from places it should not. I want to climb up and see it myself, maybe next summer. Does anybody want to join?
Visited Tokyo Station to do a test shoot for a photo contest. The restoration of the brick building is finally finished after 5 years, back to it`s original looks from 1914. Destroyed by the B-29 bombing in 1945, it was rebuilt but smaller. History!
